Dr. Eric D. Medina, MD

Dr. Medina is an esteemed Ivy League trained ophthalmologist with over a decade of experience. Originally hailing from New York City, he grew up locally here in Boca Raton and began his surgical training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, the then #2 ranked medical school in the world, graduating among the top in his class. He went on to complete his ophthalmology training at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He has pioneered advanced cataract surgery, facial-eyelid and minimally invasive glaucoma techniques throughout his career. Prior to this, he graduated Summa Cum Laude at the University of Florida with a thesis on drug development for diabetes and collected numerous honors including Phi Beta Kappa.
He is a distinguished member of the Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and the Palm Beach Ophthalmology Society among others.
In addition to eye surgery, Dr. Medina is an accomplished cosmetic and functional eyelid surgeon specializing in eyelid and upper face procedures. Including: eyelid blepharoplasty, brow surgery, injectables and more.
Furthering his mission, he is an active medical researcher and is currently an investigator for FDA approved medical trials. He also is paying it forward by serving as an instructor and training the next generation of ophthalmologists.
Dr. Medina is fluent in both Spanish and English.
His hobbies outside surgery include world travel, photography, art, skiing and spending time with his family.
